Charles Dennis Douglas, affectionately known as ‘Dougie’, was born in Buxton Guyana on the 30^th of July 1944, to Winston Clarke and Mildred Douglas. The fifth child of twelve siblings. His interests were construction, which faded away to politics and serving Jesus. He chose serving Jesus as priority.

In Guyana, he served the Lord in many capacities, open-air services and missions to the Interior of Guyana. There he ministered to the indigenous people, or Indians as we know them. In one of his quiet moments with the Lord, he had a vision which he described in this manner; “the Lord showed up to me in a white car, opened the door and said, “come in”, he interpreted it to mean that the Lord was the leader and director of his life’s mission, the One who led and directed everything he did. That journey led him to Grenada in 1971 serving as a police officer under the GULP Administration, where he climbed the ranks to become an Inspector.

in 1977 he married Bibianna Sandy, and they had eight children and to date eleven grandchildren. With support from the Grenadian Government and his deep commitment to education, Charles earned a degree in Management from the university of the West Indies and later served as a Manager and Budget Analyst in the public and private sectors. He also served in the capacity of Accountant for the Holiness Church.

In the early 1990s he began pastoring the Grandmal Holiness Church until 2004. During his pastoral ministry he never forgot the vision he had from God, since missions played a pivotal role. This was reflected through the many crusades held in different parts of the island, especially the parish of St. Andrew. Accompanying him for the St. Andrew crusades were two other ministers from the Birchgrove Holiness church. Many came to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

After his Pastorship of the Grandmal Holiness church, he founded the Praise and Deliverance Sanctuary International, and continued ministry as the Lord led him and also started ‘Seasons of Refreshing”, a radio and television program. Pastor Douglas loved the youth, wanted to see them saved, grounded in the Word, baptized with the Holy Ghost, pursuing the Lord, and serving Him with fervor.

He served God where God led him. He served God through serving men. He had a desire to bring the body of Christ together in unity as the scripture said in John 17:21.

Pastor Douglas transitioned peacefully from this life on the 23^rd of December 2010.

One of his quotes ‘Go for broke’—have faith in God even though it cost you everything; don’t hold back in your pursuit.  May his memory inspire men to desire to know and serve Jesus as he did.
